Soda Bread

Preparation

  • Sift together 1 1/2 cups maida. 1 level tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp baking soda.
  • Mix in 50 gm butter, 1 beaten egg (save one tbsp for brushing on top of bread), 1/2 cup milk and 1 pack crumbled Maggi Super Seasoning (vegetarian).
  • Knead into a soft dough and make 8-10 small balls.
  • Brush these with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake in a moderate hot oven (160oC for 40 minutes till done.
  • Serve hot.

    Variation
    Tomato Soda Bread : Mix 50 gm grated onion and 2 tbsp Maggi Tomato Ketchup with egg and milk mixture. Sprinkle the dough balls with grated cheese before baking.
