Striped Coffee Pudding

Preparation
  • Soak gelatine in 1 cup of water . Dissolve by heating over a pan of hot water or in a double boiler .

  • Dissolve coffee powder in the remaining 3 cups of hot water . Divide the liquor in to two equal portions

  • To one portion add sugar and half the dissolved gelatine . Keep aside this black coffee jelly mixture .

  • To the other portion add Milkmaid and the remaining gelatine . Mix well , to get milk coffee jelly mixture .

  • In small loaf tin pour 1/2 " layer of black coffee jelly mixture . Chill until set

  • Pour 1/2 " layer of milk coffee jelly mixture over set coffee jelly mixture and chill till set . Repeat layers until jelly mixtures are used up . Chill until set .

  • Dip loaf tin in hot water to loosen jelly . Invert over a plate to Unmould .

  • Whip cream till a little thick but flowing .

  • Cut jelly in to thick slices and serve cold with whipped cream .


Quick Tip
Soaking gelatin in cold water for a few minutes before heating helps dissolve the gelatin more uniformly .
