Milkmaid
Sugar
Water
Gelatine
Citric acid
Powdered sugar
Colours and flavour

: 500 gm
: 2 1/2 cup

: 1 tsp
: 1 cup to coat jujubes

 


Preparation
  • Soak gelatine in 1 1/2 cup water .

  • In a pan put together the remaining water , sugar and citric acid and bring to boil .

  • Add the soaked gelatine and heat on medium fire till gelatine is dissolved .

  • Remove from fire . Add in Milkmaid and stir . Divide in to 2 to 3 portions Colour and flavour each portion differently .

  • Pour in to greased trays and set overnight .

  • Loosen the set gelatine from the gelatine from the tray . Spread powdered sugar on a sheet of paper and turn out the set gelatine on to it .

  • Cut in to squares and coat each piece with sugar just before serving .

Quick Tip
Whenever colours and flavorings are used , they should be put in after the cooking process unless otherwise specified .
Juice of 1 to 2 lemons may be used if citric acid is not available .
