Spiced Apples
 
6 sweet apples
6 slice of lemon with the peel
4 heaped dessert spoons of sugar
water to cover the apples.
2 inch cinnamon sticks.
 


Preparation
  • Wash, peel and slice the apples finely. Put the peel and fruit with lemon, cinnamon and sugar in water just enough to cover the apples and cook to a syrup for about 7 minutes.

  • Now place the apples in a frying pan over which you will strain the syrup. Cover the pan and cook over low heat until the apples are soft but not soggy.

  • Taste for sugar and add some more if you so require.
